Alice Ann's Quilts

I have been a quilter for more than twenty years and wanted to share some of my efforts. Since many were made years ago, I no longer have the name of the pattern or designer. Almost all were hand pieced and all are hand quilted. I work with 100% cotton fabric and thread. Some took many, many hours (the red Celtic one, for example). One of my favorite techniques is Stars from Stripes which I learned from the late Paul McDade. Others were much easier to assemble. For as long as I can remember, I've been as interested in the actual quilting pattern as I am in the patchwork. My mother collected quilts for me and I have the quilt made in 1890 by my ancestors on the Irishtown Pike in Indiana. My paternal grandmother and other relatives embroidered their names in their blocks. I am still learning and my current project gets my attention when we have finished cleaning the books we've bought.

I am sorry not to be able to acknowledge each quilt artist or designer, but if you really want to know about an individual pattern, I'll try to look through my notes and books to help you. Our granddaughters are lying on the quilt I made for Jocelyn when I made an identical, smaller one for Alaina's baby quilt.

Several years ago I collected a number of quilt mysteries which I later sold. I have keyed some quilt mysteries so you can read about quilting and enjoy a mystery at the same time if you desire. If you have additional ones, email me and I'll add them to the list. If you want to see the quilt mysteries we have in stock, type Quilt into the keyword search.

Enjoy the quilt show and email me if you have comments or questions.
